News/2006/Jan 06

Updates have been a bit thin on the ground recently due to general workload etc but things are finally coming together in a semi-convincing way. ...

First off the Machinochrist gig at the Marquee went really well. As far as I know the event was a success from Anticulture's point of view too so we should hopefully see more of that sort of caper in the future. Apparently Tom (Machinochrist) is working on putting together a breakcore night somewhere in london so I'm looking forward to seeing what that holds too :) My dad took some great photos which I've finally uploaded here. There's pics of the other bands which played too (Interlock, Miksha etc) too.

Just before christmas I went on a little expedition to see the peeps from VJ-culture at their launch event in Liverpool - lots of interesting folks and moving images on *every* available surface - As far a sI know they've got another event planned in feb so will be heading back up for that :).

Last weekend we had a bit of a mission to go "Most significant byte" - a night which Adrian (Hollowsphere) put on - again very electronic/visual orientated and lots of fun. I've got soem vids on my phone but haven't managed to convert them to anything usable yet, but needless to say the DNCN guys rocked the joint :o) We then promptly broke down on the way home so got delivered home on the back of an AA truck - Rock 'n'roll \o/.

Over christmas I've had numerous interesting conversations with various people about producing more DVDs - I've found a few people making interesting stuff and am doing me level best to get them to put it onto disk. I don't want to say too much yet but fingers crossed we'll have a wealth of new content in the not too distant future.

The last month has basically seen me churning through my to-do list, none of it glamorous stuff but all needed doing - ACIDTV is now using the ON2 VP6 codec whcih basically means better image quality for less bandwidth and hopefully less juddering. I've also set up stats for it and the number of viewers we're getting is just a *tad* higher than expected - in the region of  15000+ unique IPs per week! There's a bunch of new content on there and more to come too :)

At the mo I'm midway through writing an improved ordering back-end for the site and in fact a redesign and new front end too which will allow a bit more flexibility for content and the like. All good so far :)
