ok well this is kinda sad news but the download provider who hosts all the DVD images for us (payloadz) has changed their policies recently and the changes mean the current method of providing downloads will no longer be viable to continue with. The plan is to keep just my DVD titles and move them to my webserver back on the old download system which I wrote and worked great, but the type of server it is means it can only have an extra 60gb of storage. Currently we use in excess of 500gb on payloadz so you can hopefully see the scale of the pending cuts. I'm actually very happy with my webserver hosts apart from that space limitation and don't really want to have to move and start over somewhere else. Nor do I want to spend weeks re-writing the download system to work with payloadz's new setup. Whilst the switch to payloadz for downloads solved some problems it also created new ones with links which expire and some related problems using certain download managers etc. At the time I wrote the system the Payloadz API was very buggy and just plain old didn't work in a number of ways, had missing and incorrect documentation etc, so I had to get quite creative to build something which was even halfway reliable. Now they've made changes and allegedly it all works but even if I re-write the code to work with the new setup, there's actually no guarantee that it will work any better than it did before, plus it will still cost more to run. Basically Payloadz have told me that the way I'm using the API is no longer acceptable so I'm having to make the tough decision to mostly shut the shop down. If another viable solution comes along then it's possible I might be able to set it up again but I'm not holding my breath. My monthly subscription to Payloadz is due for renewal on Monday the 21st May, so I'm going to let things run it as they are now till the Sunday before renewal and then shut the account, or till they shut my account down, whichever comes first. I'm hoping they'll let it run another week till the 20th. What will definitely be going is: - all the loops, clips & backdrops - all the loop-packs - all the home-licensed DVDs - any Club DVDs which aren't my own work directly. I don't know exactly how many DVDs I'll be able to fit on the current webserver but I'd be aiming to keep my own titles so at least the site can remain active on a "personal projects" sort of level. If there's space left over then I'll also try and keep Jim Sullivan's latest couple of DVDs which have proven very popular, but that's not looking likely at this point.

If you've been umming and aahing about any of the DVDs or loops in the shop NOW is the time to buy it because a week from now (or sooner) there may be no real shop to speak of. I would imagine there will be a short period of downtime while I switch back to the old system on my webserver but obviously I'll try and make sure the switch goes as smoothly as possible. **Please note** Payloadz may decide that my usage is unacceptable and shut the account before the 20th and that is not something I will have any control over at all. I hope that's not the case. In that event, anyone cut off halfway through downloading will of course be refunded but I cannot guarantee availability of the DVDs beyond that point. Please remember! Payloadz might well shut my account down well before the 20th so please don't leave it until the last minute. Also please note that once the payloadz system is gone, re-downloads of old orders will no longer be possible for titles which don't make it onto the new system so if you're missing a DVD from an old order, re-download ASAP. ok well I hope you survived Christmas ok without too many arguments, hangovers etc. Sadly, due to a number of factors beyond our control ours wasn't the most cheerful of celebrations so I'm kinda relieved it's done and I'm more than ready to look forward to the New Year.

So given recent radio silence on my part over then festivities here's to a better 2012!

I can honestly say 2011 was one of the most bizzarre years I've ever experienced and whilst 2012 doesn't look to be any less mental, hopefully things will continue in a generally positive direction.

This latest new DVD from visuals maestro Jim Sullivan picks up where Incrnation left off and kicks it up a gear, delivering 68mins of rich, highly-detailed visuals.

The "separate themes" format seemed to work very well on the last DVD so that idea is carried on here, with 12 distinct videos each created separately and based around a particular visual theme. The themes are kept separate and explored individually rather than the more freeform composition style from Jim's earlier DVDs.
